27 Mar 2017 The painting Ocean crossing was created by Canadian artist Steven Nederveen for the Canadian Embassy in Iceland in celebration of Canada's 150th Anniversary. Nederveen will be hosting a workshop in Iceland on March 28th in Akureyri and March 30th in Reykjavik.

New website dedicated to the Western Icelanders

13 Nov 2016 Icelandic historian Jónas Þór will be opening a new website next year dedicated to the Icelanders who moved to Canada and North America. "On the website people will be able to follow the individual journeys of Icelanders, where they went, what they did." Þór has been collecting data in recent years and has set up a Karolina Fund page to fund the project.
