Winds of 72 metres per second in Icelandic highlands

9 Jan 2018 The Iceland Met Office measured wind speeds of 72 m/s in Kerlingarfjöll mountains in the central highlands last night. This is not a record but it's very close. Winds have been extremely strong in the capital area for the last few hours.
