Four were injured in the accident including two children who are on the road to recovery.

28 Dec 2018Police in South Iceland hope to speak with the two men who were transported to Landspítalinn National University Hospital yesterday after their rental jeep plunged through a railing and off a bridge in South East Iceland. Two children also survived the crash and are seriously injured in hospital.

27 Dec 2018 South Iceland police have confirmed that two adults and one young child, all non-Icelanders died in the accident at Núpsvötn bridge this morning. Four people, two adults and two children aged 7 and 9 were taken to hospital in helicopters.
27 Dec 2018A tow truck is now trying to remove the jeep driven by the British family up to the bridge and from the scene of the accident. All those injured were flown to hospital in Reykjavik via helicopter and their injuries are very serious. The Suðurlandsvegur road is still closed in both directions.
