Three dead in South East Iceland car crash
A car plunged across the bridge at Núpsá river this morning carrying seven passengers. Three are dead and four have serious injuries.
An emergency call was made at 09:42 that a car had been driven off the bridge across the railing at the Núpsvötn bridge and landed on the sands below. The Suðurlandsvegur road was closed in both directions after the accident and will remain closed for a few hours.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene and police are investigating the incident.
