Tourists put lives at risk at Jökulsár Glacial Lagoon

27 Feb 2018 Safe Travel, a website dedicated to the safety of tourists in Iceland has warned people of walking out onto the ice sheet on the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, one of Iceland's most popular tourist spots.

14 Feb 2018 The storms are hitting Iceland relentlessly it seems and this morning the Iceland Met Offie put out an orange alert for South and South East Iceland. The no.1 road between Hvolsvöllur and Jökulsárlón is closed. All traffic through Hellisheiði and Kjalarnes has also been put to a stop.

1 Jun 2017 Two tourists driving in a 4x4 with a caravan got caught in the storm raging in South Iceland earlier today, and were swept off the road. One of them is severely injured and transferred directly to a hospital in Reykjavik.
