29 May 2015 This May has been the coldest in Reykjavik since 1979 and the highlands are still covered in extremely deep snow.

28 May 2015 Will Carruthers, who cuts a dapper and rather pirate-like figure on the currently rainy and grey Reykjavik horizon, is a writer. He was also the bassist for Spacemen 3, Spiritualized and Spectrum, three bands who were probably the most influential rock outfits of the late 80's and early 90's. He will be reading from his recently published Book of Jobs here in Reykjavik on Friday afternoon, a book where Iceland plays a small but interesting part.

Reykjavík's first beach bar

23 May 2015 Bar Ananas, or "the pineapple bar" is the latest addition to the Reykjavík nightlife scene. The bar, which opened in November is not located anywhere near a beach but offers a range of cocktails and features cheery décor such as sand and of course, pinepples.

7 Apr 2015 At Auðunarstofa, a reconstructed historic building at Hólar in Skagafjörður, north Iceland, a rare copy of the Old Testament in Hebrew can be found. The copy has various notes in the handwriting of former bishop of Hólar, Guðbrandur Þorláksson, who was bishop between 1571 until his death in 1627.
