A planned new runway for Iceland’s main international airport in Keflavík (KEF) will enable passenger capacity to be doubled.

Under new planning proposals a new runway is to be built some time over the next fifteen years, while the airport terminal itself could triple in size by 2040.

6.25 million passengers are expected to use KEF in 2016, 30% more than last year.
