A new French coffee and cookie shop on Hverfisgata

25 Jan 2018 Emilie's is a new coffee shop on Hverfisgata founded by Emilie Zmaher. The venue prides itself on personal service, great pastries, English scones, bagles and cookies.

First cat café set to open in Reykjavik

27 Nov 2017 The first cat café is set to open before Christmas in the Reykjavik city centre. "We adore cats so now that pets are allowed in restaurants we decided to jump at the opportunity and go forward with an idea that we've had brewing for a while," says Gígja Björnsson, who owns the café with Ragnheiður Birgisdóttir.

The Tíu dropar coffee shop is located in the basement in a Laugavegur building.

One of Reykjavik's oldest coffee houses evicted

18 May 2016 Coffee shop and wine bar Tíu dropar will be closing in July after being one of the city's staples for over 40 years. Owners and staff of the coffee shop have issued a statement that a new company bought the building and terminated their lease on short notice.
