Icelanders biggest users of cannabis

Icelanders are the biggest users of cannabis in Europe and America, according to new figures published by the Mail Online.

According to data sourced from Recovery Brands, 183 out of every thousand Icelanders have smoked weed at least once in the past year, way ahead of second-place USA with 148 and Spain with 96.

Cannabis is illegal in Iceland, although the penalty for possession of small quantities is usually limited to a fine. Repeated offences can, however, lead to a custodial sentence.
