Support for legalising cannabis doubles

Support in Iceland for legalising cannabis has doubled since 2011, according to a new MMR opinion poll.

A recent study of 1,001 individuals over eighteen reveals that 24.3% now favour the legalisation of cannabis in Iceland, as compared to just 12.7% in November 2011.

Men are more likely to favour legalisation than women – 31.4%, as compared to 16.5%. Other social groups more likely to support legalising the drug are the 18-29 aged group (42.6%), individuals on the lowest incomes (44.3%), and Pirate Party voters (46.2%).
