Iceland’s WOW air up for aviation social media awards

Icelandic low-cost airline WOW air has been nominated for three SimpliFlying awards, given to airlines for excellence in social media.
The airline has been nominated in three categories: Launches, Branding and Overall in Europe. The awards ceremony will take place on 7 September in London.

“These nominations puts WOW air among the world’s largest airlines,” reads a statement from the airline. “Until now, only two airlines – KLM and Etihad Airways – have received as many nominations as we have.”
“We at WOW air have always placed great importance on social media and attracted deserved attention both in Iceland and abroad,” says Head of Sales and Marketing Engilbert Hafsteinsson.
