Fishermen’s Day was celebrated all over Iceland yesterday. It is a legal holiday for fishermen, celebrated annually the first Sunday in June since 1938.

Furthermore, Saturday and Sunday, the Festival of the Sea was celebrated at Grandagarður, Reykjavík.

Large crowds of people gathered in Reykjavík for the festivities, and the weather gods surely cooperated, bringing us warm weather and sunny skies. Morgunblaðið’ s photographer Hari brought us these pictures:
