Icelandic tattoo artist Hrafnhildur Inga Guðjónsdóttir, otherwise known as Habba Nero works at tattoo shop Íslenzka húðflúrsstofan i n Reykjavik. Her tattoos are handpoked and her designs inspired by nature and old Norse runes.

Habba, who previously studied at the Iceland Academy of Arts learned the art of tattooing from her boyfriend Boff Konkerz. "I didn't make it a career until I'd already done tattoos on several friends and family. It was a series of coincidences that led me to my career."

According to Habba, handpoked (or stick and poke)  tattoos heal much faster than machine tattoos and the risk of infection is much lower.

"I'm enchanted by organic forms and I love everything connected to animals and plants. I like marine life and strange insects. Magical runes are also a favourite, especially the ancient Futhark runes. "

You can see Hrabba's work on her webpage HERE and on the home page of Í slenzka húðflúrsstofan.
