5% fall in air fares from Iceland
Flight prices fell by an average of around 5% last month, with flights to Denmark some 10% cheaper.
This is the main finding of a price comparison survey carried out by Dohop for flights to major destinations from Iceland.
The biggest price fall was for flights to Hamburg, Germany, which were over 12% cheaper in June than in May. Flights to both Copenhagen and Billund in Denmark were over 10% cheaper.
The most usual flight fare is ISK 50-65,000 (approx. €340-440), including flights to popular destinations such as Alicante, Barcelona, London and Stockholm. Flights to America cost on average over ISK 100,000 (approx. €680).
Viewed overall, British low-cost airline Easyjet offers the lowest fares. The airline flies from Iceland to destinations in the UK, Ireland and Switzerland.
