No Oscar for Jóhannsson this year

Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, nominated for an Oscar for the second time this year for Best Musical Score lost out to master Ennio Morricone who won the award for the score to the film The Hateful Eight. 

Jóhannson was nominated for the score to Sicario. Last year, Jóhannsson was nominated for the score to A Theory of Everything but didn't win, however he received a Gloden Globe award for his score to A Theory of Everything. 

Seven Icelanders altogether have been nominated for an Oscar. Friðrik Þór Friðriksson for Children of Nature, Björk and Sjón for the song I've seen it all from Dancer in the Dark, Rúnar Rúnarsson and Þórir Snær Sigurjónsson for The Last Farm and Sturla Gunnarsson for After the Axe. None, however, have won the award.
