Icelandic singer/ songwriter Jófríður Ákadóttir is well-known for her haunting vocals in electronic band Samaris and for the charming Pascal Pinon in which she sings with her twin sister Ásthildur.

Ákadóttir recently performed with Bang Gang at a record release concert at Gamla bíó and she's also a member of a brand new band called Gangly.  This multi-talented young woman is now working on a solo album, the fruits of which can be enjoyed on Sunday night at Kex Hostel in Reykjavik.  Accompanying her on stage will be longtime friends and collaborators. The music was all written over the last year and is apparently heavily influenced by her listening to R&B music in the car on tour with Samaris.

Joining her at the event at Kex Hostel is Norwegian musican Hanna von Bergen. the entrance fee is 1000 ISK and the concert starts at 9 pm.

Here are a few soundbytes from Ákadóttir's various projects.

Ákadóttir forms part of the stunning Samaris, an electronic trio which has enjoyed much success locally and internationally.
