Whale Carcass Removed
A whale that beached on the shore of Reykjavík yesterday was successfully removed from there just before noon today, mbl.is reports. The Reykjavík Public Health Authority worked in cooperation with the Environment Agency of Iceland on removing the carcass, which had a very foul smell.

The minke whale was lifted up with a 100-ton crane and put on the deck of a truck, which was to take it to a landfill in Álfsnes, in the eastern part of Reykjavík.
