Difficult Road Conditions Possible
June is around the corner, and we thought summer was here, but winter is reluctant to leave. Today, snow showers are expected in elevated areas in Northeast Iceland today. The Icelandic Met Office warns that driving conditions for ill equipped vehicles could be treacherous, for example in Fjarðarheiði mountain pass, which connects Egilsstaðir and Seyðisfjörður in East Iceland.
The forecast for today calls for northerly winds of 5-10 m/sec in most parts of the country. Periodic rain or sleet in Northeast Iceland and light snow on higher ground. Partly cloudy in the south and west.
Tomorrow: Cloudy and slight precipitation in the north and east, but partly cloudy elsewhere.
Temperatures tomorrow will range from 1°C to 14°C, with the warmest weather in the south.
