Austrian tourists threatened with police when they pitch up tent in Reykjavik

Three tired Austrian tourists arriving late in the night to Iceland decided to camp overnight at Rauðavatn lake in a suburb of Reykjavik. This morning an angry lady told them to leave because she had called the police.

Norbert, Lukas and Andreas who saw no other camping area close by therefore camped in this rather unorthodox campsite. Mbl.is paid them a visit and it's clear that they were responsible travellers and not doing anything illegal.  In other words, they were complying to the travellers code - nature conservation laws for tourists travelling in Iceland made by the Environmental agency.

The three guys are on a two week trip around Iceland and will be choosing registered camping sites for the rest of their trip.
