While road trips are probably the most popular way of travelling around Iceland, flying also has its special charm.
When visibility is good, Icelandic domestic flights provide passengers with stunning views of the land below. One of our photographers recently took the 35-minute flight from Reykjavik to the northern town of Ísafjörður and captured the images above.
The route is operated by Air Iceland, using Bombardier turboprop aircraft.
