Delta adds Minneapolis to Iceland network

Tomorrow sees Delta Air Lines’s maiden flight between Iceland and Minneapolis, USA, bringing the airline’s Iceland service up to fifteen flights a week.

Minneapolis is Delta’s second destination from Iceland. They have flown to New York (JFK) for the past five summers, converting the route into a year-round service this year.

A daily flight to Minneapolis, a daily flight to New York and an extra New York rotation on Sundays brings the total number of Delta flights between the US and Iceland up to fifteen over the summer. Flights are operated in conjunction with joint venture partners Air France and KLM.

According to a Delta press release, passengers flying from Iceland will have convenient connections to 84 onward destinations via their Minneapolis and JFK gateways.

“Over the peak summer months Delta will offer almost 5,900 weekly seats between the United States and Reykjavik, more than doubling its capacity compared to 2015,” the statement reads.
