Rock slides close South Iceland beach
Kirkjufjara beach, near the popular tourist spot of Dyrhólaey in South Iceland, has been closed off due to the risk of rocks falling from the cliff faces.
The Environment Agency of Iceland warns visitors not to venture down onto the beach under any circumstances as further rockslides are likely.
The Icelandic Met Office will be conducting closer checks in the course of this week to assess how stable the cliff top is and whether further restrictions are necessary.
