All international flights to and from Iceland early this morning were canceled, as well as all domestic flights. The first flight to the country landed at 10:49 from Copenhagen. The first scheduled departure from Keflavík International Airport is at 11:30 am to Washington Dulles.

Almost all international flights were canceled at the airport yesterday, and 184 passengers on board an aircraft from Norwegian Airlines, arriving from Tenerife, had to wait two hours on board before disembarking, due to strong winds.

The bus company Strætó canceled all service this morning, due to inclement weather and impassable roads. You can view updates on their service here by clicking on the trumpet in the lower left corner.

There is a severe gale or blizzard in most parts of the country (the only exceptions being part of Southwest Iceland and part of Northeast Iceland).

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for most of the country and an orange alert for the northern part of Snæfellsnes in West Iceland, most of the West Fjords and all of North Iceland.
