A party or parties unknown claiming to be acting on behalf of jihadist extremist militant group Islamic State (IS) has carried out a cyber-attack against an Icelandic Christian mission website.

The domain name kristsdagur.is remains down, purportedly ‘Hacked by Islamic State’. The link belongs to the Union of Icelandic Christian Missions (link in Icelandic).

The page now shows a black background and a video showing executions carried out by IS jihadis (warning: distressing scenes). Under the video is the message:

“Now our fighting has come! We don’t negotiate except with cannon, we don’t have dialogues except with guns, we will not talk except strength. And we will not stop the fighting until we make Athan and pray in Rome by Allah’s will in a conquest, as a promise from Allah, and Allah does not break his promise.”

The Union is investigating the matter and a criminal charges have not been ruled out.
