For those who are looking to buy a home in Iceland and would also want to own a piece of movie history, an irresistible property has just come on the market.
As readers of Iceland Monitor are aware Icelanders have gone crazy for Will Ferrell‘s new Eurovision comedy on Netflix about two clueless singers from the small fishing village of Húsavík who achieve their dream of participating in the annual European song contest.
The apartment that is now for sale is in the house that was used as the home of Ferrell‘s character Lars and can be seen in a few key scenes in the movie.
The apartment is on the two top floors of the wooden house, built in 1903 in a style typical for the period. The building is on the corner of Héðinsbraut and Hafnarvegur, a short walk from the port of Húsavík.
The floor area of the apartment is just over 127 square meters and is divided into a foyer, a laundry room, kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms.
The asking price is 24,500,000 kr or around $178,000.
