A man was stabbed last night in Metro, a fast food restaurant in Kópavogur, the capital area in Iceland. He was transported to a hospital immediately, with life threatening injuries. He is now in intensive care in the hospital and out of immediate danger.

The attacker left the restaurant after the attack but was apprehended by the police shortly after along with another man suspected of being involved.

The attackers are not connected to the victim and the attack seems to be unprovoked.

According to Grímur Grímsson, head police officer of the Reykjavik Metropolitan Police who was made famous in the case of Birna Brjánsdóttir, the suspect have been interrogated today and police has interviewed a number of witnesses. It will be decided later today if they will be put in custody, though Grímsson thought it more probable than not.
