Silfra crevasse in Iceland claims another life as tourist dies
A tourist in his sixties was transported to the National University Hospital in Reykjavik after losing consciousness at Silfra, a crevasse at Þingvellir National Park in Iceland. He was declared deceased upon arrival there. An American tourist died at Silfra only last February. He was a man from the US in his sixties who was snorkelling at Silfra.
According to the South Iceland police, the man who died today was on an organised trip with his family in Iceland. An emergency call was made at 15:59 today after the man was rescued back to shore at Silfra.
