Reykjavik street lights to be turned off tonight

The streetlights will be turned off in Reykjavik Centre tonight, at 20:30 for 45 minutes. The aim is to get people to enjoy the starry night. The weather forecast is promising, a clear sky, starry night and still weather so the moment has all potential to be quite magical.

The Northern Light Forecast is promising for the evening. Though they Northern Lights usually appear a bit later in the evening/night, there’s always a chance they might show themselves early and people wandering around in the centre might catch a glimpse as there will be minimal light pollution.
