QuizUp, the mobile trivia game developed by Iceland-based Plain Vanilla Games, will be opening an office in New York, US, this week.

According to CEO of Plain Vanilla, Þorsteinn B. Friðriksson, the office will initially be staffed by five Icelandic employees from headquarters, with plans to recruit further staff in the USA.

“The aim […] is to get closer to American markets,” explains Friðriksson. “We have recently been working with companies such as Google, Coca-Cola and HBO on material for QuizUP and an office in New York will make it easier to be closer to these big companies.”

“A lot can be done from Iceland but it is definitely a real advantage to be close to the hub of the advertising market in New York,” he continues.
