PHOTO: Spectacular Northern Lights phoenix

A picture of the Northern Lights over Iceland has made it into the Telegraph’s 23 February list of ‘Pictures of the Day’.

The photo, taken by Hallgrímur P. Helgason, is a stunning view of the famous Aurora Borealis taken over Iceland – the configuration of the lights forms a convincing shape of a phoenix in flight.
