It has emerged that Florian Cendre, the French teenager found dead in South Iceland in August, flew to Iceland on a one-way ticket.

Cendre arrived in Iceland on 1 October 2014 and spent one night in a hotel in Reykjavik, before flying out to Höfn in South Iceland the next day.

A witness saw Cendre walking towards nearby Laxárdalur valley, where his dead body was found ten months later, in a state of decomposition.

An appeal for information by South Iceland police last month yielded few results, although one witness has now been found who saw Cendre walking towards Laxárdalur valley.

As things stand, there is little indication of an unlawful act having been committed, but police are still waiting for results of Cendre’s autopsy.

Recent reports suggest that Cendre flew to Iceland on a one-way ticket and police have been speaking to the victim’s relatives in France to try and piece together the purpose for his journey to Iceland.
