Raging storm likely to close the ring road on the south coast

10 May 2017 A big part of the road along Iceland’s South Coast will likely close in an hour or so. The weather is pretty bad all over Iceland. It’s been snowing in North and East Iceland and the West Fjords, and road conditions are bad on many mountain roads in these areas.

Travellers driving in West Iceland today are encouraged to take care.

23 Mar 2017 Holtavörðuheiði mountain road is partially closed as a shipping container blew off a truck. The roads around Reykjavik mostly all passable, but take care as it’s very windy. The weather at the Golden Circle is fine, but the roads are covered with snow and ice.

Storm wreaks havoc in Siglufjörður, North Iceland

9 Sep 2016 An unexpected storm hit remote Siglufjörður, North Iceland yesterday afternoon and rescue teams were called out to tend to damaged and loose flying property. No people were injured.
