Iceland gets millions in EU grants
Iceland received some ISK 3.4 billion (approx. €23.5 million) in 2015 in the form of grants under various European Union (EU) cooperation programmes.
The money went to various companies, institutions, school and individuals, according to information from Icelandic Centre for Research (RANNIS).
Grant funds were chiefly directed into research, development and educational projects, with other money going to youth issues, culture, film, equality issues, employment, business cooperation and civil protection.
