No Hot Water in Sandgerði, Garður, and the Upper Part of Keflavík

There is now no hot water in the upper part of Keflavík, in Sandgerði, and Garður. This is stated in a notification from HS Veitur.

Live footage: The lava going over the hot water pipe

Lava from the eruption that began this morning has flowed over the Njarðvík pipe, the main conduit for hot water from Svartsengi for the Southern Peninsula. Significant steam is now rising from the place where the pipeline burst.
