The Smásaga app from Origo has been implemented and is now used by all health care workers who work in home nursing, as is reported in an announcement from Origo. The app is one more example of the company's emphasis on paperless solutions.

"Health care workers are caring for one of the most vulnerable population in society and more people are dependent on their services every year," is reported in the announcement.

The app provides a great solution for storing data. Instead of writing information about clients on a piece of paper that needs to be rewritten into a database at the end of the day, the app stores the patient information in a safe space in a cloud and thus is both convenient and saves time.

In real time via smartphone

It turns out that the Smásaga app helps creating a better overview, makes the service easier, saves money and increases connections between different areas in the health care system, says Þórólfur Ingi Þórsson, the product manager of the app.

"The implementation of Smásaga app has gone better than we hoped for and our client feedback has been very positive. The health care professionals in home care have taken the step to both make their job easier and increase the safety of their clients by using this technology," says Þórólfur.

The information stored in real time in the Smásaga app on the health care worker's smart phone is sent directly to Saga, the health care file of the patient in question.

Origo was already developing the Smásaga app when Covid-19 pandemic hit the world. The company were asked to implement the app faster than had been planned so patients' safety could be guaranteed. That was possible since the development was in the final stages, and now Smásaga is used all over the country.
