Man Confesses to the Murder of Icelandic Woman in Denmark

A 51-year-old Danish man has confessed to the murder of a 43-year-old Icelandic woman in East-Jutland, Denmark, reports, quoting Ekstra Bladet.

The remains of the woman were discovered in East-Jutland, Denmark, overnight, reports. The suspect, who is her former partner, reported her missing yesterday morning, but she was last seen late Thursday evening last week, when leaving work at a nursing home in Odder.

On Saturday, her employer received an SMS from her phone, reporting her sick. Police believe she was already dead by that time.

The deceased was a resident of the town of Malling. She was searched for by police all day yesterday and into the evening, when the focus of the search turned toward her home. During the early morning hours, her remains were discovered at her home.

The remains will be sent for forensic examination today to confirm they are indeed those of the Icelandic woman, but Inspector Michael Kjeldgaard states that based the investigation, the police believe that to be the case.

The suspect appeared before a judge this morning in the Aarhus District Court, and police requested that he be remanded in custody for four weeks.
