The Icelandic Met Office has issued yellow weather alerts, effective tomorrow, for the following regions: Northeast Iceland, East Iceland, the East Fjords and Southeast Iceland.

In Northeast Iceland (from 3 am until 4 pm tomorrow) and in East Iceland (from 4 am until 6 pm tomorrow), a northwest blizzard is expected with poor visibility and dangerous driving conditions. People are advised not to travel in these areas while the warning is in effect.

In the East Fjords (from 5 am until 8 pm tomorrow) and in Southeast Iceland (from 5 am until 5 pm tomorrow), the forecast calls for a northwest storm or violent storm with wind speeds of 23-30 m/sec and wind gusts in excess of 45 m/sec. The windiest area will be east of Öræfi. People are advised not to travel in these areas while the warning is in effect.
