Beware of Counterfeit Euro Bills

There have been several incidents of counterfeit 100 Euro bills reported in circulation in Iceland over the weekend. The Capital Area Police Department has issued a statement on Facebook, asking the public to show caution when accepting payment in foreign currency.

Should you discover counterfeit bills, please call the police right away by dialing 112.
