Watch the Storm and the Waves Live

The information technology firm Advania has begun a live stream of Sæbraut road in Reykjavík, where a severe storm and high waves are expected to lead to a road closure by 3 pm.

There are weather warnings in effect all over the country and people in every part of the country have been asked to remain indoors after 3 pm.

The website severe-weather.eu describes the weather as a powerful “bomb cyclone”or “bombogenesis.” 

The Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management has activated its coordinating center, and the national police commissioner has declared a phase of uncertainty in the country. Everyone is asked to stay indoors after 3 pm.
