Strong Gale Warning Today

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a yellow alert for South and Southeast Iceland, effective from 1 pm till midnight.
A strong easterly gale with wind speeds of 13-23 m/sec and rain is expected in these areas. Motorists, please be aware the strongest winds are expected near mountains in the far south and in the Öræfi area. Wind gusts could exceed 40 m/sec.
Heavy rain is expected in Southeast Iceland by evening.
