A man in his forties died last night at the University Hospital of Iceland. He had been attacked and severely beaten at his home in Æsustaðir, Mosfellsdalur, a few kilometres from Reykjavik. According to RÚV, the attack is connected to illegal debt enforcement. 

The Reykjavik Metropolitan Police was called out at 18:24 and a massive force sent to Mosfellsdalur, including the SWAT team, ambulance and a fire truck. They closed off the area for a long time last night.

Six people, five men and one woman were arrested, suspected of attacking the victim. They were interrogated last night. The interrogation will continue today.

The investigation into the case is extensive and ongoing. The head police officer of the case is Grímur Grímsson, the same officer that lead the investication into the murder of Birna Brjánsdóttir, which shook the Icelandic nation only few months ago.
