Iceland to import 30,000 Christmas trees this year
Based on previous years, Icelanders are expected to buy 40,000 Christmas trees this year to adorn their homes and workplaces.
Some three-quarters of this total, however, will need to be imported from abroad – mostly Nordmann fir trees from Denmark.
While domestic production of Christmas trees is relatively low, the share of home-grown Christmas trees is growing, with Icelandic forests becoming ever more productive.
