Football history has been made in Reykjavik this evening as the Iceland men’s football team qualify for the UEFA European Championship for the very first time.

Iceland went into tonight’s match needing just one point to be sure of qualifying directly to Euro 2016 as one of the top two teams in Group A.

A goalless draw against Kazakhstan this evening gave the boys in blue that one point and, with it, a ticket straight to the Euro 2016 finals in France.

Whatever happens in Iceland’s two remaining games (against Latvia and Turkey), they cannot now be dislodged from the top two of the group.
