Over half of Icelanders are religious

According to a new Gallup poll, over half of Icelanders say that they are religous, or 51 percent. Thirty percent are not religious and 14 % are atheist. The remainder chose not to  answer. 

The poll, conducted worldwide, showed that 63 % of the world's population consider themselves to be religious, 22% are not religious and 11% are atheists. The highest number of religious people is in Thailand, or 94 % with Armenia, Bangladesh, Georgia and Morocco coming in next at 93 percent. China has the greatest number of atheists according to the poll, or 63 percent.
