Dutch drug duo busted at KEF
Two Dutch nationals are being held in custody after being caught trying to smuggle just under 20kg of amphetamines, cocaine and MDMA into Iceland.
Mother and daughter team
The two detainees, mother and daughter, flew into Iceland from Amsterdam last Friday with a return ticket for the following Monday. Customs officials found the drugs in their suitcase and the women were arrested by Suðurnes Police.
Icelander arrested
Shortly after their arrest, an Icelandic man was arrested in connection with the matter by the Reykjavik Metropolitan Police. He is also now in custody.
The trio have been remanded in custody until 15 April. No further details are available at this stage.
