Possible Closure of Ring Road in Southeast Today

A warning has just been posted on road.is, indicating that Ring Road 1, near Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, will likely be closed due to inclement weather this afternoon.
The area in question is between Hnappavellir and Hali in Suðursveit. The road could close sometime between the hours of 3 pm and 8 pm, or even sooner.
The Icelandic Road Administration asks people to avoid traveling in the area.
