‘Polar Bear’ Spotted in Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon

Nature can sometimes create the most amazing visual deception, leaving us in awe, or even laughing out loud.

One of our readers, photographer Rebecca Douglas, had such an experience recently, when she visited Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, Southeast Iceland.

This is the message she sent us:  “Just when you thought Iceland didn't have polar bears … ha!! Spotted the ice and light doing something crazy at Jökulsárlón!”

See the “polar bear” for yourself. It certainly appears to be swimming in the lagoon, with a rather serious expression.
