Orange weather alert for Reykjavik, South Iceland and Faxaflói

 Latest reports from the Iceland Met Office are that the area of low depression will create a bad storm in Reykjavik and an orange weather alert has been raised. All domestic flights have been cancelled. 

This will result in a blinding storm in Reykjavik and the South West corner of Iceland afer around 10 am and continue until around 7 pm. 

Windspeeds will reach around 18-25 metres per second with snowfall. Conditions in Reykjanesbraut, the road between Reykjavik and Keflavik International Airport will be very bad, with almost no visibility according to the Iceland Met Office. 

The Met Office strongly disadvises anyone from setting off in a vehicle today if they can avoid it. 

Last night multiple roads closed due to weather with numerous people, and tourists, stranded.
