An agreement was reached between the flight engineer association of airline engineers and SA business Iceland during the night and engineers went straight back to work to prepare planes for take off.

Following a 48 hour strike, Icelandair's flights are almost back to normal and PR respresentative Guðjón Arngrímsson says that there are delays to today's schedule but that almost all flights are back on.  Everything should be back to normal tomorrow morning.

Asked how much the strike has cost the airline, Arngrímsson says that costs are not clear yet, but the most expensive part was transferring passengers onto other airlines and paying for hotels.
