The view from Fosshótel Reykjavik is across the bay, surrounding mountains and Reykjavik harbour.

With large, comfortable, modern rooms, this recent addition to the Fosshótel chain in Reykjavik offers a perfect getaway for couples, families, groups of friends or business associates.

Spacious, stylish and boasting incredible ocean views the Fosshótel Reykjavik is located in Borgartún, the financial "district" or street of the city, a stonesthrow away from the city centre. Witin a ten minute walk along the seaside you will reach Reykjavik harbour, the stunning Harpa concert hall and conference centre and the city centre with its bustling restaurants, bars and shops.

The four-star hotel accommodates 650 people and offers plenty of family rooms, friendly service and an excellent breakfast, brunch and dinner buffet.

Some of the suites  large family rooms which include a sofa bed as well as a double bed and offer entertainment for children.

The size of the hotel means that it's capable of receiving large groups of people, and the hotel has two meeting rooms on the second floor. It's not, however, marketed as a conference hotel but rather as a family orientated hotel. A restaurant, Haust, seating 210 people is located on the ground floor and offers a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The sumptious dinner buffet at Haust offers first class dining at affordable prices with something for all ages. Among the dishes on offer are a variety of vegetables straight from the farm, assorted fish and shellfish from the shores of Iceland, beef straight from the farm, and slow-cooked Icelandic leg of lamb with fresh herbs. The vegan and gluten free options are also outstanding.

Also on the ground floor is Bjórgarðurinn or the beer garden which focuses on beer and gourmet hot dogs.

Last but not least the views in the suites at Fosshótel Reykjavik are among the best in the city, overlooking the ocean, the surrounding mountainscape and the Reykjavik harbourfront.

The Fosshótel chain of hotels is a part of the Íslandshótel hotel chain and together they offer a wide range of accommodation all around Iceland.  For bookings visit
